



Maritozzo



Ingredients:
-
For the Cream
-
1/4 Cup of flour
-
1/4 Cup of water
-
2/3 Cup of brewer's yeast
-
1 teaspoon of sugar
-
For the dough
-
7/8 Cup of flour
-
2 Tblspoons of milk
-
2 Tblspoons of honey
-
2 Tblspoons of delicate extra virgin olive oil
-
1 yolk
-
the peel of an organic orange
-
1/4 Cup of soaked raisins
-
more flour for sprinkling
-
1 1/2 Cup of fresh whipping cream
-
1/4 Cup of powdered sugar
Directions:
-
Prepare the leavening by mixing flour, water, yeast and sugar in a small bowl. Let it grow for half an hour.

Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix milk, honey, egg and oil. Add some flour and start kneading with a fork. Then pour in the leavening and then again the flour until it forms a soft dough. Add the orange peel and the previously soaked and squeezed raisins.

A smooth dough, let rise until doubled.

Gently deflate the bottle and divide it into 6 equal portions.

Make a ball from each, and give a pointed shape to the ends.

Let it grow until doubled.

Preheat the oven to 180 °, brush with the egg white at room temperature and then cook for about 15 minutes.

Let the Maritozzi cool before filling them with the very cold whipped sugared cream from the fridge.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
